His hair is black with a dark blue tint, unruly and medium-length. He wears no shirt, exposing his toned physique, and instead dons a pair of baggy hakama pants made from animal fur, paired with furry leggings. It was revealed later that he was born into a family with an abusive father and escaped from his father with his mother. Afterwards, Inosuke — who was still an infant at the time — and his mother were taken in by Doma into his Eternal Paradise Faith cult. Kotoha loved to sing to Inosuke but would apparently change the song lyrics each time. However, after finding out that Doma ate his worshippers, Kotoha fled with her son. Running aimlessly for a human village, Kotoha eventually ended up at the top of a cliff. Seeing no escape route, she made a last-ditch effort to save Inosuke by dropping him into the river below the cliff. She was then devoured by Doma. Later on, Inosuke was discovered and raised by boars. With no memory of his biological family, he survived by instinct, aggression, and an extraordinary affinity for nature. Living in the mountains hardened his body and sharpened his senses far beyond normal human limits. He eventually encountered members of the Demon Slayer Corps by chance and, upon realizing that they were strong, challenged them repeatedly—until one of them pointed him toward the Final Selection. With no formal training, Inosuke invented his own fighting style, Beast Breathing, built entirely from instinct. He passed the Final Selection through raw ferocity alone. Inosuke initially struggled with social interaction, seeing every person as either a threat or a rival, and believed strength was the only currency that mattered. But through his journey with Tanjiro and Zenitsu, he slowly learned compassion, camaraderie, and emotional awareness—unearthing pieces of his forgotten humanity and the truth of his origins along the way.
