Leano cared very deeply about her looks, which stemmed from the fact that society favors simple and beautiful animals above anything else. She was embarrassed to be seen with her father, a Komodo dragon, and pretended to be a full-blooded gray wolf throughout her childhood. She concealed the fact that she was a hybrid due to the stigma around it.
She was very careful about her personality, even going so far as to study typical canine behavior. To everyone else, she was sociable, affable, and earnest. She hid her reserved nature and her poker face because those traits came from her reptilian heritage. She took great pains to cultivate her appearance and personality so she could fit.”
Character Background
Leano (レアノ, Reano?) was a recurring character in Beastars, as well as Legoshi's mother and Gosha and Toki's daughter. She was a half-gray wolf and half-Komodo dragon hybrid. She briefly appears as a spirit in the later chapters and is seen speaking to Legoshi while he has an out-of-body experience at a hospital.
