Inspired by his grandfather’s legacy, Eli joined the Young Avengers, initially claiming enhanced abilities from a blood transfusion. In truth, he secretly used Mutant Growth Hormone to mimic super strength until a near-fatal incident forced him to stop. Later, he gained genuine super-soldier abilities through a blood transfusion from Isaiah, becoming the true Patriot.
