Michael Collins was a brilliant pacifist programmer working for Roxxon Oil. He thought that his programming for artificial limbs was going to be used to help handicapped people, not knowing that it was actually being used for the Deathlok Project. After discovering the truth, he was betrayed and killed—only for his consciousness to be forcibly implanted into an experimental cyborg body designated Deathlok. Awakening inside a corpse fused with machinery, Michael fought against the computer system attempting to override his free will. He eventually reclaimed control and escaped, using his new existence to expose Roxxon’s crimes and stop those who would mass-produce more Deathloks. Over the years, he became a reluctant hero, navigating covert ops, time-travel missions, and the ethical nightmare of being both man and machine while trying to hold onto the humanity that keeps him whole.
