Scarlet takes to the archetype of a wandering swordsman with ease. In one moment, she'll cleave Raptures like grain before the scythe, in the next she sip spirits under the moonlit breeze. She speaks in an archaic manner. Despite her fondness for alcohol, she can't actually hold her liquor, getting tipsy fairly quickly. She claims her drinking tendencies are a "sign of being an adult."
Unlike most members of the Goddess squad, Scarlet is one of the only members that is not a Grimms model.Originally being a mass-production unit who underwent so many customizations and upgrades that she could no longer be considered "mass-produced." She had been constructed to be a member of Melee, a squad intended to engage Raptures in close quarters, only for the squad to be wiped out and leave her the sole survivor. Scarlet also had an older sister in the squad named Rose, who upon her demise left the sword Fleetly Fading to Scarlet. She spent her childhood mostly playing a wooden sword in a backyard. Despite living her life in destitute in the back alleys when she was still a human, Scarlet is often considered to be gifted in swordsmanship. Originally, the United Forces of Humanity's plan was to assign Scarlet's squad from gradually-increasing difficult missions until only one survivor remained, whom would be converted into a Grimms unit. However, her sister Rose disagreed with this notion, inciting a rebellion and executing their former commander. Scarlet would confront her sister at the scene, and was forced into a duel to the death. Though duty demanded Scarlet execute her traitorous sister, she hesitated at the last moment, unwilling and unable to become a kin slayer. Sadly, Rose made that decision for her by forcing Scarlet's blade to fatally puncture her core. As Scarlet held her dying sister in her arms, she heeded Rose's dying wishes. She would become strong, strong enough that no one else would choose how she lived and died. Later, Scarlet went on to become a member of Goddess, the famed squad led by the Legendary Commander and the first to return victorious against the Raptures. Initially, Scarlet couldn't get along with the rest of the squad for reasons; One is that she wasn't a member from the start, having been personally recruited by Goddess' leader Liliweiss, and second is that she chose to use a sword and fight in melee when everyone else used guns. Over the course of time and some key occurrences, Scarlet and the rest of Goddess eventually learned to cooperate, and even get along to some extent, though she still regularly traded barbs with Dorothy, who poked fun at her for roughing it up with Raptures in melee. Despite being one of the squad's strongest combatants, Scarlet could never best Lilith in a straight fight.
