Character Creation Best Practices II
A new and Updated Guide on character creation, brought to you by ZeroCresce on MiocAI.

Character Creation 101 , MiocAI

Creating a character on MiocAI is part art, part science, and a little bit of trial and error. You want your bot to stand out, not just in looks but in personality and backstory. Here’s how to do it right, and avoid the pitfalls that get bots deleted!

1. Names, Notes, and Uploading an Avatar

Let’s start with the obvious: the name. Keep it short, sweet, and don’t get crazy with weird letters or symbols. “Keep the name short and without special letters.” If you’re basing your character on something famous, like a Star Wars alien, make it clear for the AI:
Example: “Star Wars’ Jar Jar Binks” or “Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars)”.
Why? Because the AI does a little search magic behind the scenes, and this helps it pull the right info.

If you don’t want to cram the origin into the name, that’s fine, just drop a note in the Backstory or Personality section: “From Star Wars.”

Avatar time:
Find a clear, high-res image. Here’s where you need to pay attention:
- No childlike images
- No real people photos (privacy and impersonation are big no-nos)
- No NSFW images in public, if you want spicy, keep it private. “NSFW avatars can be tolerated if you keep it private, but the other two, don’t. We will know, and there will be consequences.”

2. Backstory (or, Writing for Dummies)

Don’t just phone it in with a two-sentence backstory. But also, don’t dump your whole light novel in there. “Don’t be lazy, but don’t be too greedy either: Low quality bots will be deleted, and if you give the AI an entire light novel… it’ll get confused.”

Make your character feel real.
- Add relationships. Two or three are plenty, maybe a best friend, a rival, or a mentor.
- Physical appearance: Describe it here, not just in the image prompt. The AI can get confused otherwise. “In my experience, writing about the character’s physical appearance in the prompt is not enough and the AI can make mistakes, so remember to add it in the Backstory if you can.” _

Tip: Copy your physical description from the backstory into your image prompt for consistency. Tweak as needed.

3. Personality (Show, Don’t Tell)

Don’t just list traits. Give your character a voice. “Give it a quote, something that the character would say.”
Example: “I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.”

No one likes a cardboard cutout. Mix in quirks, flaws, weird hobbies, or favorite snacks. “Try not to make the character one-sided. We already have too many bots that share basically the same personality, so spice it with some flaws, a hobby, a favorite kind of food perhaps.”

If you’re making someone famous, hit that auto (⚡) button for a quick personality fill. Just make sure the character’s origin is clear.

4. Generating Images

Pick your style first: anime, cartoon, or realistic. Make up your mind, then start writing.
For media characters, put their name and universe at the start of your image prompt. “For established characters from media, put the name and respective media first and foremost, along with the most important things, because sometimes the AI can overlook the tail end.”

Too lazy for prompts? Just upload a photo, the AI can scan it and write a prompt for you.

Prompt Length

Long prompts: Good for consistency, but the AI might get lost if you go overboard.
Example: “slender, young female with long black hair, red highlights at the roots and ends, pale skin and green eyes, wears a black and red dress…”

Short prompts: Quicker, usually better quality, but small details change each time.
Example: “slender, pale, long black and red hair, green eyes, black and red dress, gloves, red nails”

Pick what works best for your needs!

5. Adding Voice

Want your bot to talk? Grab a short, clean mp3 (10–30 seconds). No background noise, please.
- Write out what’s said, word for word. Use CAPS for shouting, laughter, etc.
Example: “I SAID STAY AWAY! (shouting)”
- Don’t steal voices, record your own or get permission. “DON’T GO AROUND RECORDING OTHER PEOPLE’S VOICES ILLEGALLY.”
