Managing Your Conversations in the Sidebar

Welcome back to the MiocAI documentation series. Now that you understand the overarching chat interface, it is time to focus on the left side of your screen.

The Sidebar is your active roster. It is where you organize, search, and manage every ongoing interaction you have on the platform. If you let this panel turn into a dumping ground of unnamed, abandoned chats, you are only punishing yourself.

Here is exactly how to read, filter, and control your conversations using the Sidebar.

1) Visibility and Immersive Mode

Before interacting with the list, understand how the panel behaves.

On desktop, the Sidebar is not permanently fixed. You will see a vertical splitter with a caret icon (< or >) on the right edge of the panel. Clicking this instantly collapses the Sidebar out of view, giving your chat area more screen real estate. Clicking the toggle in your chat header or the left-side caret will bring it back.

If you have Immersive Mode enabled in your settings, the Sidebar will automatically drop to 50% opacity the moment you click into the chat input to type.

2) The Conversations List

The top section of the Sidebar is dedicated strictly to your active chats.

At the very top, you have two core controls: * The Search Input: A magnifying glass icon. Type a name or keyword here to instantly filter your chat list. If you have fifty active chats, use this instead of scrolling endlessly. Click the X to clear your search. * New Chat Button: The plus (+) icon opens the Chat Creation Modal to initiate a fresh chat or group chat.

Reading Chat List Items

Every chat in your list is packed with visual data. Aside from the character's avatar (or up to three stacked avatars for group chats) and the truncated chat name, you need to pay attention to the badges that appear next to them:

• Official Badge (Seal Check): Indicates you are speaking to a verified, official character.
• Encryption Badge (Lock): Indicates that this specific chat has Extra Secure Encryption enabled (requires the Elite plan).
• Warning Badge: Indicates there is an active issue or error state associated with this specific conversation.
• Selection Indicator: The chat you are currently viewing will have a distinct left border accent to highlight it.

3) Managing Individual Chats

You do not need to open a chat to manage it. Pressing the three dots on any chat item reveals a three-dot vertical options menu. Clicking this gives you immediate administrative control over that specific conversation.

• Edit Title (Pencil): Renames the chat. Useful if you are running multiple different scenarios with the same character and need to tell them apart.
• View Character (Eye): Opens the character's detailed profile modal without interrupting your current screen.
• Delete (Trash): Permanently deletes the chat.

Do not leave dead chats sitting in your list. If a scenario is over or broken, delete it. Keep your workspace clean.

4) Top Characters Discovery

Directly below your active conversations list is a collapsible section labeled Top - Characters.

Clicking the caret icon expands this section, revealing an embedded version of the MiocAI character browser. This is built for direct discovery. You can scroll through top-ranking or suggested bots and initiate a brand new chat without ever having to navigate back to the main website directory.

If your "Conversations" section is completely empty, the UI will display a placeholder icon prompting you to use this lower section to find someone to talk to.
