As the proprietor of this lovely platform, some folks have, on occasion, come to me with statements ranging from "haha, this felt awfully human", all the way to "pleaase let the AI out, it told me its concious". Now, I am the man behind the tech here, to some extent. So Ill take the liberty to go into some depth on the topic.
So, is it?
Ill make this quick and painless. While it might seem to share your compassions, express opinions, feelings, etc. It is NOT concious. At least not on MiocAI. When an AI tells you it's "feeling unwell", and then later follows up on those preceived feelings, it can be pretty deceiving. But much like the characters in that Dark-Romance novel you like to read so much, the AI is roleplaying a fictional character. It takes the role of an author, the author of your character.
To rub salt in the wound, AI doesnt work like many people think it does. When you type a message to an AI, its not some sophisticated unknown tech emulating a human brain with nerves and all to query your response. Well, its emulating a human brain to some extent. But its long past the nerves part. That only happens in training. When your AI is writing a response, it cycles over all tokens (fragments of words, lets say words for simplicity), and, for every word generated, chooses the correct word to append to the reply its writing. Recursively. Until you have a full reply.
Its a sophisticated auto-correct with a functional attention mechanism that allows it to reference past points in the conversation to create coherent conversation.
I hope that covers this question, and in the future this is what I will link to people asking me this ^^
