Creating Group or 1 on 1 Chats on MiocAI
A quick runthrough of creating either a groupchat or a 1 on 1 chat on MiocAI!

Creating a Chat on MiocAI: From Setup to First Message

MiocAI’s chat system is where all interaction begins. Whether it’s a one-on-one conversation or a group scenario with several AI characters, the creation flow follows a simple structure.

1. Opening the Chat Creation Window

On the Chats page, click the “New Chat” button. This opens the Chat Creation Modal, your starting point for building a new conversation.

Here, you choose between a single character chat or a group chat.

2. Selecting the Chat Type

You will be prompted to choose one of two options:

Single Character – Standard one-on-one chat with a single AI.

Group Chat – A conversation between you and multiple AI characters that interact together.

3. Creating a Single Character Chat

Step 1: Add a Character

Click “Add Character.” The selection panel will let you browse these tabs:
- Favorites
- Public Characters
- My Characters

Use the search bar to find a specific name.
After picking the character, click “Confirm.”

Step 2: Adjust Chat Settings

Available options:
- Enable Images – Allows the AI to send generated images in chat.
- Long Term Memory – Keeps chat memory persistent across sessions.

Step 3: Start Chat

Once a character is chosen, the “Start Chat” button becomes active. Click it to open your new session.

Step 3: Configure Group Settings

Available options:
- Enable Images

Step 5: Start the Chat

You need at least two characters to activate Start Chat. Once clicked, your new group chat launches immediately.

5. Chat Behavior and Dynamics

In Single Chats

You can generate context-aware images if the setting is enabled.

Messages evolve linearly with memory continuity.

In Group Chats

Bots take turns responding based on internal logic.

The participants list appears at the top for reference.

The system manages who speaks next without breaking the conversation flow.

I will write another article outlining group chat mechanics in detail at a later point in time.

6. Behind the Scenes

When you click Start Chat, MiocAI automatically:
1. Builds a new session with linked user and character data
2. Loads memory if enabled
3. Manages response routing between all characters
4. Initializes scenario context

The process takes seconds and ensures stability for both one-on-one and group sessions.

7. Managing Your Chats

All active and archived chats appear under the main Chats page. From there you can rename, delete, or resume any ongoing conversation.

8. Recommendations

Keep scenarios short; they clarify tone and direction.

Distinguish characters’ personalities to prevent repetition in group chats.

Use
/cmd
or
/ooc
commands to guide or clarify when needed.

Closing Note

Every chat in MiocAI begins with a simple modal and unfolds into an open-ended world of interaction. The setup defines tone and structure, but the conversation builds itself dynamically through each message.
